- A University postgraduate degree
plus a first degree in Engineering.
- At
least 6 years' professional experience dealing with infrastructural
services issues.
(Prerequisites
for the Reducing Vulnerability
Leader)
- A University postgraduate degree in
Applied Sciences or
any relevant Social Sciences discipline.
- At least six (6) years' experience
in dealing with the
communities, building their capacity to secure household food security,
designing
and implementation of projects.

Practical Action
Southern Africa is part of an international technology development organisation

Latin America, Bangladesh, Nepal and South Asia.
Since its establishment in Zimbabwe, in 1989, the organisation
has built a reputation in long term development and has demonstrated convincingly
how technology can assist in alleviating poverty.
In pursuance
of its business goals, Practical Action Southern Africa is seeking to recruit Program
Team Leaders for its Infrastructural services and Reducing Vulnerability thematic
areas all based at the Harare office. Both incumbents will report to the Regional
Director, and will broadly be responsible for the direction of the respective thematic
area/program's strategic direction.
Other key deliverables will include inter alia:
- Developing and communicating the strategic direction and
intent of the programme to internal staff and key external stakeholders.
- Fundraising for the program and overall budget management.
- Providing leadership and opportunities for learning in all
affairs concerning the effective running of the unit
- Supporting and facilitating team commitment to the
organisations strategic direction through factual information, guidance and
resource availability
- Lead in seeking and encouraging others to find new opportunities
and innovative approaches to poverty reduction in the target
communities.
- Encouraging team interaction to build new ideas and facilitation
of interaction between the unit and other thematic areas.
- Providing mentors hip {guidance to staff by and giving them
regular feedback on their performance
- Be part of the senior management and international team
