Desired Requirements
Applicants must possess a minimum qualification of a Degree in Engineering/Technical Education, Higher National Diploma/ Advanced Craft Certificate or City and Guilds Full Technological Certificates. A Master's degree is a distinct advantage. A Skilled Worker Class 1 Journeyman Certificate. Post professional teaching experience and qualification e.g further Education Technology Diploma is a pre-requisite. A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in the related field working in a workshop environment as a Boilermaker or Welder is a distinct advantage.
DUTIES
Demonstrating and teaching undergraduate engineering students the safe use of measuring instruments, hand tools, machines and equipment use in a Fabrication Workshop. Evaluating undergraduate engineering students and duties as assigned by the head of department.

1.2 Department of Special Needs Education
1.2.1 Assistive Education (1 post)
Applicants must have a PhD degree in Special Needs Education. Holders of a Masters' degree in Special Needs Education with a Merit may also apply. Applicants should also have at least three years post-qualification experience. They should be able to teach two of the following courses: Assessment and Curriculum Issues in Special Needs Education; Visual Impairment; and Social Context of Special Needs Education.
1.2.2 Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (1 post)
Applicants must have a PhD degree in Special Needs Education. Holders of a Masters' degree in Special Needs Education with a Merit may also apply. Applicants should also have at least three years post-qualification experience. They should be able to teach two of the following courses: Foundations of Special Needs Education; Gifted, Creative and Talented Education; and Rehabilitation and Transition of children and Youth with Disabilities.
1.2.3 Speech and Communication Disorders (1 post)
Applicants must have a PhD degree in Special Needs Education. Holders of a Masters' degree in Special Needs Education with a Merit may also apply. Applicants should also have at least three years post-qualification experience. They Should be able to teach two of the following courses: Mental Retardation, Multiple Disabilities; and Guidance and Counselling Issues in Special Needs Education.
1.2.4 Physical Disabilities (1 post)
Applicants must have a PhD degree in Special Needs Education. Holders of a Masters' degree in Special Needs Education with a Merit may also apply. Applicants should also have at least three years post-qualification experience. They should be able to teach two of the following courses: Learning Disabilities; Comparative Issues in Special Needs Education; and Health Related Disabilities.
2.0 Faculty of Social Sciences
2.1 Department of Psychology and Human Resources Management
2.2.1 Human Resources Management (2 posts)
Applicants should have at least a Master's degree in Human Resources Management or a Master's degree in Business Administration and a relevant first degree. A PhD degree in the relevant area and teaching experience at tertiary level is an added advantage. They should be able to teach at least two of the following courses: Industrial Relations; Trade Unionism; Labour Law; and Strategic Human Resource Management.
2.2 Department of Sociology, Social Anthropology and Rural Development and Resettlement
2.2.1 Urban Development and Management (1 post)
Applicants should have at least a Master of Science degree in Rural and Urban Planning, Construction and Project Management or equivalent. Possession of a relevant first degree in Rural and Urban Planning or equivalent is a pre-requisite. A PhD degree in a relevant area and experience in an academic field is an added advantage. They should be able to teach at least two of the following courses: Planning Law; Infrastructure Planning; Transport Planning; and Property Valuation .
3.0 Faculty of Science
3.1 Department of Mathematics & Computer Science
3.1.1 Mathematics (5 posts)
Lecturer: Applicants must hold a PhD/DPhil degree in Mathematics. Applicants with a good Masters' degree and are registered for a PhD/DPhil degree at a reputable University may also be considered.
Senior Lecturer: Applicants must hold a PhD/DPhil degree in Mathematics with a publication record and a traceable teaching record of not less than three years in a University.
Associate Professor/Professor: Applicants must be in possession of a PhD/DPhil degree in Mathematics with a good publication record in peer-reviewed journals. The candidate must have a traceable teaching record of not less than five years in a University. Experience in supervision of post-graduate projects in Mathematics is a distinctive advantage. The candidate should be able to initiate, develop and manage national and international linkages.
Post A (1): The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, up to post- graduate level, in at least two of the following broad areas: Classical Analysis, Complex Analysis, Stochastic Analysis, Fuzzy Mathematics, Uncertainty Theory.
Post B (1): The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, up to post-graduate level, in at least two of file following broad areas: Set Theory and Logic, Graph theory, Topology, Geometry.
Post C (1): The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, up to post-graduate level, in at least two of the following broad areas: Abstract Algebra, [Group Theory, Matroid Theory, Number Theory.
Post D (1): The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, up to post-graduate level, in at least two of the following broad areas: Theory of Ordinary Deferential Equations, Numerical Analysis, Chaos Theory, Mathematical modeling.
Post E (1): The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, up to post-graduate level, in at least two of the following broad areas: Practical Differential Equations, Control Theory, Dynamical Systems, and Mathematics of finance.
3.2 Department of Computer Science (4 posts)
Applicants must have an earned PhD/DPhii degree in Computer Science. Applicants with a good Masters degree and are registered for a PhD/DPhil degree may also be considered.
Successful candidates will be expected to supervise students' research projects and to teach courses, up to post-graduate level, in

4.1 Sub-librarian Client Services (1 post)
Applicants must have a Masters' degree in Library and Information Science. Applicants must have at least 4 years experience in a senior position in an academic library. They should also have working knowledge of the latest developments in Information and Communication Technologies within the Library and Information provision field.
4.2 Assistant-Librarian -Library Systems (1 post)
Applicants must have a first degree Library and Information Science or a first degree in any other area plus a post graduate qualification in Library and Information Science. They should have at least 2 years experience in an academic library or information centre as well as working knowledge of the latest developments in Information and Communication Technologies within the Library and Information provision field.
5.0 Student Affairs
5.1 Ecumenical Chaplain (1 Post)
Applicants should have at least a Master of Theology/Divinity degree, be an ordained and practising Pastor/Reverend. They should be mature and be aged at least 40 years. They should also be registered Commissioners of oaths. Possession of a doctorate degree in the relevant area is an added advantage. Applicants must have a National Certificate in Machine Shop Engineering, at least 5 “O” Level passes, one of which must be English Language and must be computer literate. A qualification in Purchasing and Supply and experience in a Laboratory or Workshop set up would be an added advantage.
Duties among others include:
Being responsible for the accurate booking in and out of all items for stock, sale, or repair, carrying out inspection of goods received, maintaining quality, batch control, and traceability of all parts, dealing with dispatches by post and undertaking any other duties as requested by workshop supervisor.

2.1 PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
2.1.1 Technical Instructor/ Technician (1 Post)
Applicants should have at least a Higher National Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent. The successful candidate should be able to: Prepare practical sessions for the students in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacognosy and Microbiology; use laboratory equipment such as UV/visible and IR spectrophotometers, autoclaves, microscopes, soxhelet and pH meters; run routine chemical and microbiological diagnostic tests on blood and other body fluids; supervise and monitor students’ use of laboratory equipment and maintain clean equipment and glassware.
2.2 POLYMER TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

1.3.3 Agricultural Economics and Management Unit (3 Posts)
Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Agricultural Economics or Agricultural Applied Economics and Management and at least a Masters of Science degree in Agricultural Economics or Agricultural Applied Economics. Candidates with a PhD will have an added advantage.

Applicants must have a minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Crop Science or Horticultural Science and MSc in Horticulture or Crop Science. Candidates with at least three years University teaching experience and a PhD will have an added advantage.

The successful candidate is expected to teach at least two of the following courses; Fruit Production, Landscape Horticulture, and Vegetable Production.
Post 2
The successful candidate is expected to teach at last two of the following courses; Vegetable Production, Greenhouse and Controlled Environments and Principles of Horticulture.
NB: Successful candidates should be able to supervise student projects, initiate research and undertake income generating projects for the Department.

Applicants must have a first degree in Accountancy and a Master's degree in Accountancy. Possession of a professional qualification in Accountancy such as CIS, ACCA, CIMA and ICAZ is an added advantage. Temporary Full Time Lecturer (1 Post)
Applicants must have a BA/BSc degree in Geography/Hydrology and an MA/MSc/MPhil in Hydrology. A PhD, experience in teaching at tertiary level and GIS and Remote Sensing knowledge will be added advantages. The successful candidate is expected to teach Hydrology.
Teaching Assistant (1 Post)
Applicants must have a minimum of BSc/BA degree in Geography with at least a 2.1 degree classification.
NB: For all Lectureship posts, candidates with a proven track record of published work in reputable journals in their relevant areas will have an added advantage. Experience in teaching at Tertiary Institution will also bc an added advantage.

1.6.1 Chief Research Officer (1 Post)
Applicants must hold a minimum of MSc or MA. A PhD/DPhil will be an added advantage. The successful candidate must be capable of implementing the vision and mission of the Research and Postgraduate Centre, must be a notable Scholar with a good track record in research activities, must be a dynamic, trans-disciplinary individual with a bias towards Social Sciences. He/she must have excellent management. verbal and written communication, interpersonal, public relations and negotiation skills and have credibility among his/her peers.

He/she will be primarily responsible for the administration of the Moodie System including the design, developing, implementation, and maintaining a variety of distant learning solutions. The duties of the incumbents will involve assisting with teaching undergraduate tutorial classes in Publishing Theory and Practice as well as research. Applicants must have an Honours Degree in Textile Technology with a 2.1 degree classification or better. Successful candidates will be expected to assist with conduct of Tutorials and practical classes in Textile Technology. The successful candidates will be expected to register for a higher Degree Programme in the Department of Textile Technology. Preference shall be given to candidates who are strong in
Chemistry related subjects with 2.1 passes or better.

They must display knowledge of Administration concepts and have good organizational skills; be able to plan and co-ordinate Faculty activities and be computer literate. Administrative experience in an educational environment, knowledge of University systems of operation and computer literacy will be added advantages.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in any Section of the University Administration, but the initial appointment will be to one of the Faculties.
C. TECHNICAL POSTS
16. MAINTENANCE OFFICER (1 POSTS)
16.1 Physical Planning, Works and Estates
Applicants must be holders of a minimum qualification of a Degree in Engineering, plus a minimum of three (3) years working experience in a maintenance environment, or related field. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of, and ability to use hand and welding tools. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, carpentry, transport and ground systems is essential. The successful candidate will
be expected to possess exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills to enable him/her to be able to function effectively and efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with an aptitude for computer systems and technologies will be desirable. In addition, applicants are required to have knowledge of ISO 14001 Environment Management Systems. A driver’s licence is a must.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of building maintenance, repairs and improvements. He/she will be expected to delegate maintenance tasks to maintenance and warehouse staff, ensuring that such tasks are performed timeously in a pro-active, safe and environmentally conscious manner. Furthermore, the incumbent will work closely with university personnel in organizing and maintaining preventative maintenance requirements; scheduling and material purchases. Other duties in the overall supervision of maintenance production and plant assets will include assessing maintenance staff workloads and making appropriate recommendations; actively participating in planning, organizing and executing tasks and projects; training staff on processes, procedures and technical tasks.
17. CHIEF TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
17.1 Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering-Faculty of Industrial Technology
Applicants should have a Masters Degree in Manufacturing/Production/Mechanical Engineering with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. At least 5 years of post-bachelor’s industrial experience is required, two of which must be in a supervisory role. The successful applicant will be expected to supervise staff in the workshop in addition to the technician’s duties.
18. CHIEF TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
18.1 Department of Computer Science-Faculty of Applied Sciences
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in either Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or any equivalent Information Technology Degree from a recognized University or Institution, and at least 5(five) years post-qualification experience. A Postgraduate Degree in the relevant field would be a definite advantage. Candidates must have experience in computer software,
networking and hardware. The duties of the incumbent will include management of computer laboratories and laboratory equipment, supervision of junior staff, liaison with equipment suppliers and provision of user support within the department.
19. MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGISTS/SENIOR MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGISTS (2 POSTS)
19.1 Division of Basic Medical Sciences- Faculty of Medicine
Applicants must possess a Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/Sciences or Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent, with industrial attachment or equivalent. For candidates to be appointed to the senior Technologist Grade, they should have 3 years post-qualification experience, in addition to the outlined Bachelor’s qualification.
20. TECHNICIAN/ SENIOR TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
20.1 Department of Applied Mathematics-Faculty of Applied Sciences
Applicants must posses a minimum qualification of a Higher National Diploma, or a Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or Electronics. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant post-qualification experience. For candidates to be appointed to the senior Technician Grade, they should have 3 years post-qualification experience, in addition to the outlined Degree qualification.
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Chairman of the Department and will be expected to run and maintain the Departmental Computer laboratory. He/she should have a thorough working knowledge of modems, routers and switches. The duties will include trouble shooting, cabling (CAT5), configuration, repair and maintenance of all departmental computer related hardware or software problems, in addition to overall technical supervision of laboratory sessions. Enforcement of security and safety measures in the computer laboratory, assisting both undergraduate and post-graduate students in carrying out their research, user training and support, and checking consumable stocks and advising on re-ordering levels will be some of the duties, as well as doing any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or
senior technical staff.
21. TECHNICIAN/SENIOR TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
21.1 Department of Textile Technology-Faculty of Industrial Technology
Applicants must be holders of either a Higher National Diploma or equivalent, or a Degree in Textile Technology/Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering with experience in maintenance, repair and setting of Textile manufacturing equipment. Experience in Textile laboratory/workshop administration, repair and calibration of laboratory equipment will be an added advantage. For a candidate to be appointed to the senior Technician’s Grade, one has to have 3 years post qualification experience, as well as the ability to supervise and train junior staff.
22. TECHNICIAN (2 POSTS)
22.1 Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering-Faculty of Industrial Technology
Applicants must be in possession of a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical or Diesel Plant Engineering. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain and service departmental equipment for thermal, fluid and compressed air systems for teaching and research activities. He/she will also be required to actively participate in the design and development of experimental test rigs, and to assist students in
carrying out experiments and projects. In addition the incumbent will be expected to assist academic staff with their research projects. He/she must demonstrate commitment to self-advancement within the academic and research environment of the University.
